Dr. Shelburne grew up in Raleigh, NC and graduated from Hampden-Sydney
College with a BS in Chemistry in 1974. He graduated from Duke
University School of Medicine in 1978. After graduation, he did
his residency at Duke University Family Medicine from 1978-1981.
Following this he spent three years in the Air Force and has been at
Jonesville Family Medical Center since 1984. He achieved a
Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine.
He is happily married to Debbi Shelburne and has two children:
Blaire Mathis [Elementary School Teacher] and David Shelburne [Medical
Student at Wake Forest University School of Medicine]. His
hobbies include yard landscaping, hiking, and golf.
